Apples are part of the rose family, along with plums and pears, and one of the most widely eaten fruits worldwide. In Sweden, we have around 13 varieties, some with traditional Swedish names like ‘Ingrid-Marie’ and ‘Frida’, and all of them rich in antioxidants and healthy fruit sugars. These make apples wonderfully nutritional snacks as well as delicious baking ingredients, and in beauty, their combined content of fruit sugars and acids helps to protect, moisturise and encourage skin exfoliation.
