First modeled after its namesake city in Italy, Venice Beach now feels distinctly Californian. Most famous for its “Muscle Beach,” a stretch of sand that’s accented with an outdoor gym, there’s so much to see and do in this artsy beachside neighborhood.
About a 10-minute drive from Venice Beach lies Santa Monica, home to the soft sands of “State Beach,” the longest bike path in the world and its famous pier, complete with a 27-metre high Ferris wheel.
